Special Events, Workshops, and Community Gatherings
Our special events, workshops and community gatherings go beyond weekly classes, giving you space to explore new practices and deepen your well-being. Whether it’s a restorative workshop, a seasonal gathering, or a free community class, each event offers an opportunity to nurture body, mind, and spirit.
Full Moon Yoga and Sound
Since the fall of 2022, Irvington Wellness Center has offered full moon yin yoga and shamanic sound healing events. The theme for each monthly immersive experience varies according to what different indigenous groups on Turtle Island called a particular moon, based on what was happening in Nature during that time - Wolf Moon, Strawberry Moon, Duck Flying Up Moon, etc.
From the moment you walk into the welcoming space and see the altar set up with candles and crystals, you know you're in for something more than a yoga class and more than a chakra balancing sound bath. Combining the two modalities deepens the experience bringing your body-heart-mind into alignment. Together we open sacred space, calling in the guides and helpers of the 7 directions including Mother Earth; Father Sky and the center point of the altar of each person’s heart - the Golden Phenix within.
Page Park will then guide you through gentle yin yoga poses which help release tight areas in your physical body. At the same time, LinDel will come around with chakra tuning forks and Tibetan singing bowls, whose vibrational healing sounds help further release stuck or stagnant energy in your mental, emotional and energy bodies. As you melt into the final savasana pose, LinDel will lead the group through a shamanic drumming journey to help you connect within, with Mother Earth and with Grandmother Moon.

The strawberry is the first berry to ripen. Its sweetness was considered good medicine for the heart by many indigenous peoples in the US and Canada. Traditionally, Ojibwe communities celebrated the Strawberry Moon cycle with annual feasts welcoming everyone home, regardless of any previous disputes; old grudges from the past year were forgiven.
Here at the longest days of the year, let us step fully into the light, let go of judgment and reconcile our differences with friends and family … and especially within our own heart. Besides forgiveness, it is also part of “strawberry medicine” to savor the small, sweet things that make life more enjoyable.
